MARIO TENNIS OPEN
Okay, so a lot of people don't have it, mainly due to it being TENNIS instead of GOLF--but Mario Tennis Open for 3DS IS a really fun Mario Sports game.
There's no story mode--but there are Tournaments--8 of them: Mushroom, Flower, Banana, Champions(the 4 Easier ones), 1-Up Mushroom, Ice Flower, Shell, and Final(the 4 TOUGH ones).
Singles matches or Doubles are the options.
There's also Exhibition mode--basic tennis, and Special Games--such as Ring Shot, Super Mario Tennis, Galaxy Rally, and Ink Showdown.
And a really good roster of Mario characters: the Mario Bros, the Princesses, Bowser and Jr., DK and Diddy, Wario and Waluigi, a whole SLEW of Yoshis(which you can unlock using QR Codes)--and a few others. 4 of which are unlockable when beating the 3rd level of each Special Game.
But a BIG part of the game that makes it worth playing is that you can use your Mii, and as you play matches(rather Tournament OR Exhibition) you unlock different Rackets, Arm Bands, Uniforms and Shoes--which are available to purchase in the Pro Shop for coins(which you earn in the Special Games).
There are also Costumes you can unlock when you accomplish certain things, like winning a Tournaments, Winning Online/StreetPass matches, or other things.(Including a Tanooki Costume).
Another inclusion in the game are the "Power Shots"--not like those from past Mario Tennis games--but 4 different types of icons that appear on the court: STARMAN, FIRE FLOWER, BOB-OMB and LOB SHOT---each are better versions of basic shots, but make the gameplay a lot better(and sometimes REALLY tough).
There are some really cool Courts to play on--including Mario Stadium(3 choices, Grass, Clay or Hard Court), Peach's Palace, Penguin Iceberg, and even Bowser's Castle--as well as others.
------------------------------------
Gameplay: 8/10--It's a Mario Sports game, which are always really well-done....and it's REALLY easy to learn the controls, and soon you'll be slamming shots and I was hooked to the game, it's my most-played 3DS game, and it only took a couple weeks to do so. Plus the power shots make it really fun.
Graphics: 10/10--the 3D makes the court look a lot better, giving great depth, and without it on it's not as good.
Music: 10/10--It's a Mario game--so music is really great, each court w/ its own theme.
Replay Value: 7/10--Okay, I'll admit it's not all great--replay gets a bit old, but there's Special Games, which get you coins, which you can use to buy items in the Pro Shop. And Online/StreetPass play can entertain you if you feel like it.
Overall: 8/10--is it Golf? No....but it's still really fun. At times a but repetitive--but with plenty to do, it'll keep you entertained. Casual Gamers will like it more--Mario fans should consider buying this--and 3DS owners should atleast try it out...
