Lego: The Lord of the Rings is another movie based Lego game for the 3DS, Wii, XBox 360, and Playstation.
It goes through the trilogy of movies that Peter Jackson directed on the universe that J.R.R Tolkien created.
Like other lego games, you can select many characters that you collect throughout the game; and different variations of the main characters.
Other than the story mode, you can play multiplayer with other people (of course) through local play or Street Pass.

Well, there's the basics, now the review...
I liked this game, but i have bias; i am a huge LOTR fan, and i've always liked legos. I've never been a huge fan of the games, however.
These games put an innocent humor to franchises and movies that people love. People love them, or hate them... I've heard very negative reviews to these games, because it takes something that they love, and make "play" it to make it seem childish.
I agree with it to an extent, but it's intended to appeal to kids. I mean, it's labeled with E 10+...
Either way, i liked it.
I'm going to list out the things i liked in this game:
The many playable characters; including obscure ones, and general people like soldiers.
Replayable levels: Who wouldn't want to these great battles over, and over again?
Humor: Even though some didn't like it, it brought me something new to the franchise that made me laugh, and sometimes say "Ummm..."
3D gameplay: It made this lego game look pretty awesome! Nice and shiny!
Now, the things i didn't like:
Shortened storyline: Oh, yes! I was surprised to see some of the best things taken out of the game... But something tops this...
Music misplacement: If you've seen the movies, you would know that the music by Howard Shore COMPLETED these movies. It made recognizable motifs that has stayed in the hearts of many. I remember watching a cutscene in this game, and totally being disappointed by the misplaced music...
Now, i have to explain this one... I couldn't figure out if the customizable characters were playable... At a time where i didn't have internet, i couldn't figure this out... The game and booklet didn't tell me.
Well, that's all. What did you think of this game? Play or never get?
