SSX ON TOUR
One of my favorite GAMECUBE games, and one of the best sports games a couple generations ago, SSX ON TOUR(Super SnowCross) was the last in the series for Nintendo's Mini-Disc console, released in 2005 across all platforms, the GC version has 3 Nintendo characters thrown in--MARIO, LUIGI, and PEACH--as well as a special NINTENDO VILLAGE Course, which was filled with Mushroom, Starman, and other Icons painted in the show or on signs.
Like MOST EA Sports Games you can create your OWN Character(which is why I've loved SO many EA games over the years, and still own a bunch for GC)--OR you can just jump in as one of the in-game originals, OR the Nintendo trio. Game Modes of THE TOUR, where you need to create your own character, and take part in SSX Events for Points, Cash, Hype, etc--by doing tricks, which are flippin' wild, fun, and border on the gravity-defying. ALSO you'll need to use the cash you earn to purchase and unlock different clothing, hairstyles, etc, including a PANDA Suit and Batwings(which help you get BIGGER air if you wear em').
RATINGS!
Gameplay: 10/10
Being one of my favorite Sports games on the GC, and being able to do things I'd never be able to do in reality, it's definitely a great game. Throw in Mario and company, and game modes like "SNOW COP-A-GO-GO" where you have to outrun(or knock-out) the Ski Patrol, OR "SKIDLET ROUND UP" where you have to knock down a certain number of kids on Skis--are just the TIP of the SSX tour.
Graphics: 8/10
It's 2005 Gamecube GFX, so don't be too judgmental on a 9 year old title, but the graphics still hold up, even on a 32" flatscreen that's obviously more tailor made for a HDMI inputted Wii U.
Sound/Music: 10/10
GREAT Mario sound effects are added for playing as Mario, Luigi, or Peach--but overall the Music and Sound is great. The EA SPORTS TRAX from some great rock and punk groups fit in well with an "X-GAMES" style of Snowboarding madness.
Replay Value: 9/10
I can it for hours, even if I don't ever finish some of the tougher races, but with pelting your fellow Snowboarders, Skidlets, and Snow Cops--OR just playing as a Mario Bro, is fun in it's own.
OVERALL: 9/10
Just a great game!!
I HIGHLY recommend you try to find a copy of this for Gamecube--if you're a MARIO fan, it's a necessary inclusion to your collection, OR if you're a Sports fan, X-Games enthusiast, or just want something fun to play.
