Well, I'll see what I can do whenever I get payed back money I've loaned out. We also need to see who all else is interested too. Not much point in doing it if there's not a few more people on and only you and me. Well, Neatic and Samus2008 also voted yes. So that's four people and there are most likely a couple more that would want in but haven't seen the thread. We'll just have to spread the word a little more I guess... --- Also, I've started plotting out the spawn. Found a very nice seed to work on. It's 1.8 though, so we'd have to wait for 1.8 stable for the realm... We could do another seed till then I guess. And swap when 1.8 comes. OR just wait for 1.8... Might be better that way. --- Does anyone want in on building the huge spawn area that I have planned? It's Nintendo themed obviously. Not going to spoil the surprise yet so PM me with your Minecraft user-name if you want in, I'll have to white-list you on my local server. (14w03b currently) I'll warn you, I have a 4G connection that's not a 100% stable. It goes down quite often but usually not for long.

Wait, if this means the P.C version, I won't be able to, I only have the Xbox 360 version.

The game is currently priced at €19.95! (around $27.12) If you have a modern PC you should consider it, it's 100 times better than the X360 version. I also started Minecraft with the X360 version.

I'd help you out on spawn, except for I don't generally download snapshots, but if 1.8 comes out sometime soon I could help you.
Just some structure stuff... How much RAM are these servers permitted? I was wondering because I was going to see what plugins you were going to put on it, if any, also it will affect how many people could play on there without lag.

No idea on the RAM but it is pure vanilla, so no plug-ins at all. Also:

Yeah, I know I could do that. I have one for Forge & MCPatcher.
As for Plugins I was thinking there might need to be some just to ease some things. World Edit would be a good one as for building things for the server such as the spawn. I don't know what all commands you already have being OP on vanilla because I've only been an Admin on a server that had several plugins.

I don't know what all commands you already have being OP on vanilla because I've only been an Admin on a server that had several plugins. WorldEdit is only available on a CraftBukkit Server. So not for Vanilla. In the new snapshots they added /clone and /fill commands which are a huge help in building things. They can only handle somewhere between 4000-5000 blocks per run though. I'm considering whether it'd be better to go with a unofficial host for the server. I'd still prefer to run a Vanilla server. I was talking with Mojang Support and it seems they haven't added an import map feature yet. So the work I've done to level the ground around spawn was for nothing. EDIT: There are some literally dirt cheep hosts out there, like this one for example: www.ggservers.net/minecrafthosting.html

That's what I meant though, you could still use Bukkit, or Spigot (I prefer Spigot), and run a vanilla server. Just with those you could make things easier on yourself and also add features to help run/admin the server. It's not a big thing though since it should just be us on this site on there though.
That is really cheap, and I've seen some pretty cheap server hosting.

With the new blocks and stuff in 1.8 I'd rather not run a bukkit server or similar since they're not updated yet. I'd also prefer not to have the time working on the map be wasted. (Since it's a 1.8 snapshot map.) Both bukkit and spigot are stuck at 1.7.2 while the latest stable release is 1.7.4 with 1.8 around the corner. Also the new snapshot got support for the new skin system so you can now have an overlay over you whole body and not just the head. Also left and right arms and legs are now separate.
