The whole Xbox One and PS4 against the Wii U reminds me of a time several years ago when the exact thing happened... Nintendo just caught up, but now Microsoft and Sony will have brand new systems...
But, that is really off the topic of the Minecraft question...
I'm glad Nintendo and Mojang are on good terms! So, to say Minecraft and the Wii U aren't possible, we would only have to wait and see.

not saying those games aren't GREAT, but I'm fairly sure(prediction time) that NONE will be the HUGE-Money Making games that you'd think. KH may sell decently, Madden will do alright, GT6 should be BUNDLED honestly--and the others only tailor to a genre or 2's fanbase...nothing anywhere near what the Wii U's launch library had:(New SMBU, Nintendo Land) and ALL the PS4 games(as far as I'm aware) are 3rd party--which is nice, but not necessarily as consumer-grabbing.
"Strongest console", graphics, and tech aside, the Wii U has the console lead this generation, and people already HAVE it--and either PS4 or XBOX One, even with the price difference, will have a lot of catching up to do, and until the consoles HIT retailers, and people pick them up, there's still a BIG "?" if they'll SELL. Preorders mean nothing really, cause people may be turned off a console before they even get it...
------------------
but getting back on topic(and ending the "calm debate" NOW), the Wii U is an ideal option for MINECRAFT: It's already available, people own it, it has all you really need for a PC Port, and it's only $300(well, still $350), which is CHEAPER than both other consoles which won't be out for 2 months...

I'm going to burst everyones bubble. I only have one word for this question:
NO!
I mean look at the X Box version of this game. Of course some people would argue that it's good or that it's a nice alternative to the PC version, but I've tried playing it and I couldn't do it. I hated it. Just the way that the control set/the way it worked bothered me. Not to mention that it's forever and a day behind in updates.
In saying that you could argue they could change it and make it better for Wii U, and which they could, but I doubt it. I'd say if they were to do something like that they would improve the already released X Box version before making some amazing new release for it.

I think that would be a good idea for Mojang to team up with Nintendo to be on Wii U and possibly 3DS.

It would be a good idea and boost some salls in the Wii U but at the same time, it would have to be like the xbox and ps3 version and not have the full game. Thats why I Game on pc because console Minecraft doesn't have all the features but its still fun to play without lag. If it gets released Nintendo and Mojang could make minecraft better the the xbox and Playstation version like Fyree said with the Gamepad.

Go figure... Not sure what the official reason is, but that sucks... Makes a lot of sense to bring it to the Wii U, a ton of young gamers play it, and also love Minecraft. Plus Shaddy likes Minecraft and plays a Wii U, so it makes SENSE Not to mention Microsoft owns Minecraft now...

Yeah, it's getting MORE and MORE doubtful, but that last lingering bit of hope remains--- there is a Wii U eShop knock-off you can get, but the proper MINECRAFT experience just isn't gonna happen probably.

Correction, Microsoft owns Mojang. Mojang still owns Minecraft.
On the topic of why it didn't hit any Nintendo consoles. Nintendo didn't really want it, so there was some tension there and it was eventually dropped. Also there was some talk about the smartphone version not selling that much or some such around the same time.
Since the Vita got it we might see a 3DS version in the future, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Maybe Microsoft will put some more money in Mojang, we'll see.
